My Garden is a Beautiful Mishap

30 September, 2011 | | No Comment

I like seeing beautiful landscapes filled with unique colorful flowers and different sizes of greenery. I like sitting under my awnings with a cup of tea and admiring my garden too. I have no idea what names most flowering plants are, but I certainly know what I like and what I don’t. I have tried to grow a flower garden but I set myself up for failure. Most people who have beautiful gardens have them because they have done the homework and have the patience to read about what they are doing first. There is a lot to consider when planting different things. Do they require a lot or little light? Do they need watered frequently or do they do better with infrequent watering? At my home I have an array of what I call the “survivors”. They are the plants I have collected through the years and have been diligent to stay strong for me. The colors are vibrant and although they have no rhyme or reason, maybe that is how nature is suppose to be. Gardens are a beautiful thing and maybe the beauty is just stopping to appreciate the gift it truly is to all of us.

There are numerous of beautiful paver patterns available for the beautification of your landscape. These are available in many different colors, sizes and shapes perfect for giving the outdoor of your building that uniquely beautiful appearance. Pavers are usually mounted end-to-end in order to create a solid unbreakable surface. Grass and gravel are usually place in the middle to add beauty. It is important that you select the best pattern for your building. This is because choosing the wrong pattern can drastically impact the feel and look of your home.

Paver shapes are normally in shapes such as circles, squares, rectangles and hexagonal. For a uniform pavement one specific shape may be used, but for the more eccentric individuals an assortment of shaped may be scattered randomly for a collage-like array of pavers. Designs and objects can also be created from mixing and matching different colors and shapes. Modest, geometric paver patterns work well with simple flower garden patios, while the more random designs work better with alternative styled areas and modernized patio styles.

Great Place to Buy a Shed

20 July, 2011 | | 1 Comment

The wooden shed that we have all of our lawn equipment in the back yard was getting a little old and we had talked about replacing it. We have had that old wooden shed for a few years now and we had a storm a few days ago that damaged it a little and really we thought it would be easier to replace it than actually work on it. So I went shopping near my house but by the time I pay what they wanted for the shed and then the shipping costs it seemed a little pricy. So I went online to see if I could find a better deal. That is when I found your store. You had lots of great wooden sheds to choose from. With the great prices and being able to send it directly to our back yard it was a great deal and we love it.

Forms of Natural Lawn Care

Epsom salt has been used as natural lawn care is a well-kept secret in the lawn industry. Epsom salt is sually thought of to soak limbs that ache, but it also contains nutrients for your lawn. Epsom salt is composed of magnesium and sulfur. Magnesium helps with the production of chlorophyll. Plants have always used chlorophyll to turn sunlight into food. Toadstools are usually thought to be harmful, as well as decrease the overall beauty of a lawn. However, this is not the total truth. Toadstools assist in the decaying process which goes on directly beneath the roots of the grass, acting as a fertilizer. Thatch is a layer of dead grass which can choke your lawn. It also has the ability to harbor moss spores, fungi and bacteria. The thatch gives a surface for the weeds to grow on. The result is a weed-ridden lawn with that has brown grass. Scarification helps to keep the thatch from forming. Rake across your grass.

Why Pond Algae Control is Important

4 April, 2011 | | No Comment

The purpose of controlling pond algae is usually driven by the desire for a clear body of water but that’s not the only reason to get rid of the green water or string algae. Looks are important of course, but algae control has other benefits too.

Normally if a pond is relatively algae free, it indicates the water is in balance where there aren’t too many nutrients or things in the pond that will cause problems. Specifically, if you have fish, you don’t want ammonia or nitrites to build up because both are toxic to fish.

Another important consideration is that all plant life goes through cycles and they will eventually die off. By keeping algae in check, you can avoid any dramatic changes in the pond which might harm koi fish. Oxygen is important and plants pull oxygen from the water as they die. For a small amount of algae, this will have very little affect on the pond, but if algae is widespread and abundant, it can create more problems in any size of pond.

A Tree Company Owners Chainsaw of Choice

27 March, 2011 | | No Comment

As a tree company owner I get asked all the time which chainsaws we use. The answer I always respond with is “whatever kind will stay running and stay out of the shop”. Down time is a dreaded term that no tree service company owner likes to hear because it usually means that it will cost you money. If there is one brand of chainsaws that stand out from the rest, I would have to say Stihl professional model chainsaws. They have been very reliable for us.

In order to keep our chainsaws out of the shop, we perform regular daily maintenance on them, this helps to keep them running in tip top shape. Some of the in house maintenance that we perform is, cleaning out the air filters, sharpening the chains and dressing the guide rails on the bars. If you keep your saws in good running order they will be less likely to fail you when you really need them. A regular maintenance schedule is the key!

A Convenient Deck Box

12 March, 2011 | | No Comment

I currently keep cushions, seeds, hoses, tools etc into the house in a bigger storage shed through the year. I was told it is much convenient to keep these things in a deck storage box, outdoor. It stores items away and I can have easy access to the items I need without wasting time. I did not have to search anywhere wondering where I left the tools etc. Every tool was simple to reach at the back yard of my deck storage. The box should not be a dumping ground for toys and dirty tools. I once tend to toss randomly things into the deck because it was so easy and before I knew it, the bottom cushions were damaged. It was a lot of sense to buy a deck box especially during the summer where I tucked three cushions away until ready for use. They helped a lot in storage of all the add on bit collected by every patio
