Looking through all of the shops in Lincolnshire reminds me of my friend Betsy. She moved away a long time ago, but Betsy was always someone that I looked up to and whom I enjoyed as a friend. She was a little bit older than me, but she took me under her wing at a young age and she showed me the ropes at school and in the social scene. It was just so nice to have somebody like that growing up, because we’re all awkward teens at one point and we have a lot of things to do and learn. But I think of her when I think of the shops because she took me out to buy a new shirt before my first big school dance, and I remember being so nervous about the whole process. Just the fact that someone like Betsy invested in me made me incredibly happy though, and it made me think that there was someone who really cared.
